WORKS DEPARTMENT

The Griswold Public Works Garage is located at 1148 Voluntown Road. Also at that location is our Griswold Bulky Waste facility. Bulky Waste facility is open on Wednesdays from 10 AM until 2 PM and on Saturdays from 7 AM until Noon.

The Griswold Public Works Department is responsible for the upkeep of the town roads, the town vehicles and the bulky waste facility. They assist the Parks Committees with the maintenance of the town parks and help with the upkeep of the athletic fields. They have also provided assistance with the renovations of the new town hall at 28 Main Street.

With all of the lakes and rivers in Griswold, we have a large beaver population. Our public works department works in conjunction with DEP to protect the beaver and control the flooding.

The Public Works Employees are: Foreman Todd Babbitt, Lee Barr, Richard Breen, Michael Cassidy, Richard Fontaine, Kenneth Warner, Sidney Young, and Dana Zatorski.

Any calls or questions for Public Works should be directed to the First Selectman's Office, 376-7060.
