Griswold Town Seal

The seal represents the first change the town has made in the traditional symbol since 1815, when Griswold (then North Society) was separated from Preston. The original seal contained only the words "Town of Griswold Town Seal" around the circumference, and was used to identify official town documents. The design for the new seal was created by Diana Ducharme, winner of a contest sponsored by the Historical Society in 1973 for elementary school students. The seal was purchased for the town by the Bicentennial Commission. The 1815 seal has been turned over to the Historical Society and is being stored in the vault in the Town Hall.
