JEWETT CITY :  A Vision for the Future

Tuesday,  March 30, 2010

6:30 p.m.

Griswold Senior Center

20 Soule Street (behind the Town Hall

Jewett City is a special community -- let's work together to find those unique features that make Jewett City special and to find ways to enhance them..  WE WILL TALK ABOUT HOW YOU WANT YOUR TOWN TO LOOK. We will look at ways  to enhance downtown, to find areas for recreational trails, and

to find places for new businesses.

Landscape architecture students from the University of Connecticut will use information gleaned from this upcoming workshop to produce concepts of master plans based on your ideas.  Then at a second workshop in April, the students' concept drawings will be presented to the public for additional comments.

Plan to attend this workshop.  Don't Miss this exciting opportunity to provide your ideas!

NEW ZONING MAP CREATED FOR THE TOWN OF GRISWOLD

The Griswold Planning and Zoning Commission enacted changes to the Town of Griswold Zoning Map that became effective on August 10, 2009. This new zoning map replaces the 2000 Zoning Map based on full tax parcels.

The R-20 zoning district has been eliminated. Existing parcels in the R-40 zone have been converted to R-60 parcels. Only those parcels that have the presence of one water and/or sewer remain R-40 parcels. New C-1 parcels have been created along the Routes 164, 138, and 201, and te a Business Park District and an Open Space/Passive Recreation District have been created.

Property owners are encouraged to review this new zoning map to determine whether any individual zone parcel changes have been overlooked or omitted from this new zoning map.  Please stop by the Planning & Community Development Department to view this new zoning map.
