Our Offices Responsibility to Our Residents:

The Griswold Public Works Department is responsible for the upkeep of the town roads, the town vehicles and the bulky waste facility. Griswold Public Works Department  is responsible for clearing local streets.

 All employees of the Public Works Department are available twenty-four hours a day for snow removal. During snow storms, the Public Works Department works twenty-four hours a day to keep roads clear.

 The Public Works Department is responsible for general street maintenance, including shoulders, potholes, culvert cleaning, tree trimming and street sweeping.
 The Public Works Department is responsible for all street name signs, road signs, and traffic signals.

Public Works assists the Town Parks Committees with the maintenance of the town parks and help with the upkeep of the athletic fields. Public Works have also provided assistance with the renovations of the town hall at 28 Main Street.

Transfer Station Hours:

(All Visitors Must Provide Proof of Residency)
Every Wednesday: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
1st & 3rd Saturday: 7:00 AM to Noon

Refrigerators/Freezers Tires Miscellaneous Items
Air Conditioners   Lead Acid Batteries  Computers/TV's/Electronics
Wood-4ft or less in length Motor Oil   Carpet-4' ft or less in length
Reusable Items Scrap metal/Metal Items Brush-4" in diameter or less
Stoves, Washers, Dryers  Clothing/Linens/Shoes Stuffed Furniture

Non Burnable Items such as: Sheetrock, asphalt shingles, bath fixtures, etc.

Brush and tree trimmings are free & don’t need a permit  but must be a resident.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR DISPOSAL:

NO MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE -  HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE
Auto Parts Containing Fluids, Business or Industrial Waste
Recyclables Mixed with Garbage
