Route 164 Development Would House Residents, Retail
A Farmington-based development firm is planning an ambitious 61.27-acre "self-sustaining community," the first of its kind in the United States, on property adjacent to River Ridge Golf Course in Griswold.
Heritage River Village would house more than 600 residents in rental apartments and condominiums, including adults in need of assisted living or memory loss care, along with 42,000 square feet of commercial space, according to developers.
The project website, www.heritagerivervillage.com, cites the "lack of existing housing and services within the broad regional market" as a motivation for siting the project in Griswold.
