Currently we operate a 1989 McCoy Miller Ford E-350 Type III Ambulance and a 1994 Emergency One Ford E-350 Type III Ambulance.
In September 2002 we put two new ambulances into service. The purchase of these was made possible by generous donations of the residents of Griswold and Jewett City. The new ambulances are 2001 Wheeled Coach Ford E-350 Type II Ambulances (van style).

  • Our ambulances are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year with at least 2 EMT's.
  • We serve Griswold and Jewett City and provide mutual aid to the surrounding towns of Lisbon, Plainfield and Voluntown.
  • Griswold Community Ambulance responds to approximately 1,000 emergency calls per year.

We provide emergency medical care at the scene of car accidents, patients suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory distress, burns, traumas, diabetic patients, allergic reactions and many other emergencies.
  • We transport primarily to the William W. Backus Hospital, a level II trauma center.
  • If you have any questions or need more information please contact Jeff Way at 376-3080.
